The installation of Yii consists of the following two steps:
Download the Yii Framework from yiiframework.com.
Decompress the Yii package to a Web accessible directory (for example, your Web root directory/www/wwwroot /).
Tip:Installation in the Web directory is not required. each Yii application has an entry script that must be exposed to Web users. Other PHP scripts (including Yii) should be protected against Web access because they may be exploited by hackers.
Requirements:
After installing Yii, you may want to verify whether your server meets the requirements for using Yii. you only need to enter the following URL in your browser to access the requirement detection script:
#
The above is the detection result section.
The minimum requirement of Yii is that your Web server supports PHP 5.1.0 or later. Yii passed the test on the Apache HTTP Server on Windows and Linux systems. Theoretically, Yii works normally on other Web servers that support PHP 5.1 and platforms.
Note that not all the extensions in the above detection results must be installed. you only need to install those that are marked as required by the Yii Framework, such as PDO, others are installed as needed.
Installation:
Yii installation is very simple, just copying the downloaded framework folder to the corresponding path. For the sake of security, it is best not to place this folder under the web root directory. If you create multiple sites on the same server, you 'd better place the framework folder in a location that facilitates reading from each site. in this way, you only need to update the Yii framework in one place.
