Vista Recycle Bin
1. Hide and delete the recycle bin icon
Hide: Right-click the desktop and choose "personalized"> "Change desktop icon". In the "desktop icon Settings" window, deselect the "recycle bin" option, and the recycle bin icon on the desktop disappears.
Delete: Select the "recycle bin" icon and press the delete key. The system will prompt whether to delete it. Click "yes.
2. Restore the hidden/deleted recycle bin icon
Restore the hidden recycle bin: Right-click the blank area of the system desktop and choose "personalized"> "Change desktop icon". In the desktop icon settings window, select "recycle bin ", "OK" to restore.
Restore deleted recycle bin: if the system administrator uses the Group Policy to hide the "recycle bin" (or "all icons") on the desktop, this process may not help. Edit the Registry to re-display the recycle bin icon on the desktop:
Run the registry and expand to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/software/Microsoft/windows.
/CurrentVersion/Explorer/desktop/namespace, create an item, enter it, and press Enter.
Click the new item. In the right pane, right-click the item (default. In the edit string dialog box, type "recycle bin" in the value data box, and click "OK". After exiting the registry, you will find that the deleted "recycle bin" icon is back on the desktop.
