Your Linux Server-Tips (1)

At public institutes, system O & M is usually divided into two environments. One is the development environment, which is generally called the Intranet. The server system used is generally FreeBSD8 (64-bit) or Ubuntu series; one is the O & M environment, that is, the system or website we host, which is usually stored in the telecom data center or dual-line data center. We call it the Internet, the server system used is CentOS5 series (64-bit ). I have been playing Linux/UNIX for a few years. I have some tips here. It may be something that is easy to ignore during work and study. I would like to share it with you, we hope to improve the O & M level.

1. select an appropriate remote operation tool

In Linux/unix, I recommend the X-manager 3.0 Enterprise Edition, and Windows 2008/, I recommend the use of RA and Remote Desktop. Here we will introduce their advantages:

① Unlike putty, it requires only one program window to control hundreds of Linux/unix servers at the same time;

② X-shell garbled characters are better than putty;

③ X-browser can control Linux desktops from windows desktops, especially when operating oracle databases in Linux;

④ X-sftp easily and securely uploads and downloads things from Linux/unix servers, especially in Windows XP.

When fuqin went out to the public for cooking, we had the honor to recommend using Remote Admin (ra) for Remote management of windows2003 machines through the HP project. Later, we ran well in the company's 60 k speed-limiting environment. The home machine is two XP machines, and the remote desktop with windows is very ineffective. Now I think of ra, and the effect is very good. Here I will share my experiences with you:

① Windows Remote Desktop is good for windows2003, but poor for xp: the LAN connection speed is slow and the mouse is delayed, which should be caused by the system's own bug; compared with Windows Remote Desktop in the company's Lan, this phenomenon is completely absent;

② Sharing files between two XP servers is very troublesome and the transmission speed is quite slow. The File transfer for ra has different effects. After fuqin has this, basically, it is added to the xp Network neighbors. In the past, if there were more than 10 Gbit/s series to be shared, the transmission speed of feiqiu and Feige in XP would be very slow. After switching to ra, the transmission speed would be significantly improved;

③ After the Remote Desktop is used up, the controlled host must enter the administrator password to access the controlled host, and ra can choose whether to lock the host. This design is more user-friendly;

④ My colleagues remotely uploaded about 40 GB of SQL Server database from the company, and successfully uploaded the database with 60 k restrictions. Basically, it was okay to upload the database without human attendance last night, haha.

Now I use Remote Desktop on the Intranet, and RA is preferred when I operate windows on the Internet.

2. Exercise caution when using X-manager

When using X-manager, you need to pay attention to three different environments, generally virtual machine environment, Intranet environment, and Internet environment. Anyone who likes to use X-shell should know that sometimes, when you connect to 20 or 30 Linux or FreeBSD servers at the same time, especially when you connect to a Linux server, many SAS are probably the same as me, I like to use the root operation, and it will be a big fault if I don't pay attention to it. Here I have some experiences. If I operate an intranet or online environment server, I suggest logging out immediately after the operation is complete, if you need to perform another operation, log on again, which is more secure.
