Zabbix monitoring firewalls and switches are transmitted through the SNMP protocol for data and data analysis, which I will explain below with the Dell Firewall SonicWALL 3400 series and switch N4032. Since the Zabbix server is already installed, it is now only possible to install the SNMP protocol on the fire switch on the firewall and send the data as a client.

(i) Monitoring firewalls

First, log in to the firewall and locate the firewall's monitoring port. The port steps for this series are: Network--->interface---> firewall is monitored port, due to different vendors of the firewall steps are not the same, but the most important step is to open the fire wall on the SNMP protocol, you can let manufacturers help open the next, such as

Second, the Zabbix server snmpwalk-v 2c-c public 192.168.168.168 checks to see if any data is being collected.

[[email protected] ~]# snmpwalk -v 2c -c public 192.168.168.168  snmpv2-mib::sysdescr.0 = string: sonicwall nsa 3600  (SonicOS Enhanced  6.2.2.2-19n) Snmpv2-mib::sysobjectid.0 = oid: snmpv2-smi::enterprises.8741.1disman-event-mib:: sysuptimeinstance = timeticks:  (638740986)  73 days, 22:16:49.86snmpv2-mib:: Syscontact.0 = string: snmpv2-mib::sysname.0 = string: zabbixsnmpv2-mib:: Syslocation.0 = string: snmpv2-mib::sysservices.0 = integer: 79if-mib:: ifnumber.0 = integer: 21if-mib::ifindex.1 = integer: 1if-mib::ifindex.2 =  INTEGER: 2IF-MIB::ifIndex.3 = INTEGER: 3IF-MIB::ifIndex.4 = INTEGER:  4if-mib::ifindex.5 = integer: 5if-mib::ifindex.6 = integer: 6if-mib::ifindex.7  = integer: 7if-mib::ifindex.8 = integer: 8if-mib::ifindex.9 = integer: 9if-mib::ifindex.10 =  integer: 10

Finally, add the firewall monitoring in the Web interface, such as:

Finally, you can see the graph in the latest data. The plot effect is as follows:

(ii) monitor the switch.

As with monitoring switches and firewalls, you only need to turn on and configure firewalls on that switch, as follows:

Since I am using a Dell N4032 switch, I only need to configure configuring SNMPV1 and SNMPv2 this part,

Configuring SNMPV3 Not Configured, the configuration information is as follows:

Console>enableconsole#configureconsole (config) #snmp-server Community public RO Configuration Read-only property Console (config) #snmp-se RVer Community Private RW Configures the read-write property Console (config) #snmp-server enable traps Allconsole (config) #snmp-server host 192. 168.1.244 public Specifies the IP address Console (config) of the SNMP server side, which is the Zabbix server #exit

Second, also on the Zabbix server, execute the command: [[email protected] ~]# snmpwalk-v 2c-c public 192.168.10.10

Receive the data is normal, next can be in the Web interface, add the switch monitoring, the specific reference above, the bottom is monitoring.
