The jolt award of Software Development Magazine has become the vane of the software development field. winning the award is equivalent to attracting enough attention. It is up to everyone to create a bigger reward. After becoming a programmer, I pay special attention to the annual jolt awards, because it gives me a better understanding of the direction of software development. As long as the candidate name is released, I am waiting to see who will become the new winner. This is not the case. The 15th jolt Award was awarded again.
I am most concerned about two Book Awards for my hobbies. Head first design patterns took away the grand prize of generic books. The "head first" series has long been famous. It draws closer the distance between knowledge and people with fresh teaching methods, but does not know why, domestic Publishers do not seem to catch a cold in this series. At least no "head first" members have entered the Chinese market, we hope this jolt award will also give "head first" a chance to shake the Chinese book market. However, even though the design model is a persistent topic, I cannot figure out how to let an entry book take the jolt prize, whether it's agile software development or dancing with the bear, which is not an endless work after reading it. I don't know whether there is a problem with the review criteria or whether this book is really so valuable. I hope I can read this jolt file. Joel Spolsky has finally integrated his work into a book. A long time ago, several of his articles have been circulated and benefited a lot, I have a higher expectation for Joel on software's productinotebook. I think it will be a great casual work. Refactoring to patterns combines the two fashion terms refactoring and pattern, and previewed on the Internet, the quality should be excellent. A productivity award proves it. If the author is replaced by Martin Fowler or another important character, I'm afraid this time it will shake the world! Software factories: grouping applications with patterns, models, frameworks, and tools shouted a new slogan, making it worthwhile to grab the last producitiworkflow.
Better, faster, lighter Java can win the jolt Award for technical books. I think the title is just in line with the Java Community's forward direction. After reflecting on J2EE technology, the Java Community began to return to a simple path. However, I thought that rod Johnson's "expert one on one J2EE development without EJB" may be a more outstanding representative for its influence on the Java Community. The strange thing is, it didn't even go into the candidate list. The combination of heavyweight figures has never been successful. Following the illustration of contributing to eclipse last year, C ++ coding standards: 101 rules, guidelines, and best practices adds new evidence to this argument. Herb Suter and Andrei Alexandrescu are at least happier than Eric gamma and Kent Beck, at least they have roducivity awards. As for hibernate: A developer's notebook and Java developer's Guide to eclipse, they won the Productivity Award, but they just added a new note for the popularity of Hibernate and eclipse.
The test-driven development: a practical guide, which won the technology jolt award last year, made me feel somewhat unconvincing. Unfortunately, it always seems like, this trend has been aggravated by the award-winning books this year. This affects the image of jolt awards in my mind. In addition, from the perspective of the winning works, people are paying more attention to specific technologies than thinking. This reminds me of the unexpected laws of J2EE programs on OO itself. Three of the four technical books are related to Java, so we can see that the. NET publicity trend is still a long way to go.
In terms of development tools alone, eclipse is not the best. In my opinion, it is quite different from intellij idea, however, openness enables it to earn two yuan at the language and development tool jolt awards. As for the python 2.4 Productivity Award, I firmly believe that python is definitely a very good choice. Perhaps people are paying more attention to technical applications than the language itself, perhaps the joys and sorrows of EJB 3.0 and JDO 2.0, or the application of j2se 5.0 is not extensive enough. In short, Hibernate is pressing the high-profile j2se 5.0, successfully defended the jolt Award, and its participating projects were libraries, frameworks, and components.
Last year's jolt awards only included one test tool category. This year's automated testing and test defect tracking took place separately, which fully reflected people's attention to testing, this is another victory of agile thoughts. Testing is becoming more and more important in software development. After learning about test-driven development, a friend of mine always gave me the whole process of testing-driven development, not just development. If you do not consider the test, the program you write will often have some, and testing-this direct targeting behavior will make people understand the final principle. Joel's book failed to win the jolt award, but his product fogbugz earned a face for it, overwhelming Jira to win the jolt Award for testing defect tracking.
Let's take a look at other well-known friends: the successful completion of the subversion, winning the jolt Award for the change and configuration management tools; together designer 2005 won a Productivity Award for the design tools; while still no one can beat the design tool, again won the mobile development tool's jolt Award; flex won the web development tool's jolt award in the RIA singing and dancing, while Tomcat is the Productivity Award of this category; o'relly became the final winner of the website and Developer Network. Last year's jolt Award winner, IBM developerworks and Sun's hard-built java.net, had to take the productivity prize away. This year, InstallShield went to the Hall of Fame.
In the new year, the jolt awards have already come up with new road cards, and we have to find out what we have never touched. After all, the jolt awards will not be offered at will.
