--ustor of cloud storage system based on regeneration code
Liu Vondanley
Currently, multiple clouds are commonly used to store data to ensure user data reliability. In order to reduce storage cost and repair bandwidth, a method of using functional repair Regeneration Code (FRC) to encode data into multiple data blocks and distribute them in different clouds is proposed. This approach reduces the amount of data that needs to be transferred from the network when a single cloud in multiple clouds is lost, and reduces the cost of repairs, and has been successfully applied to the ustor of the cloud storage system being built. The experimental results show that the redundancy coding can increase the response time cost of the 5%~10% system, but the node failure is guaranteed. FRC code, decoding and repair speed with the de-Solomon (Reed-solomon or RS) code is basically equivalent to 256MB size file coding time gap within 0.5 s; FRC Code repair compared with the traditional RS code to reduce the amount of data required to download more than 25%.
