2013 forecast: Cloud computing and lightweight development will drive the development of middleware technology

The most predictable and obvious thing in the new Year is that cloud, lightweight and mobile technology will play an increasingly important role in Http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/13597.html > Enterprise IT. There is a view that, in addition to moving forward, today's various institutions are not interested in other large-scale projects. This again provides evidence of our initial projections. However, the opportunity to reduce costs in these activities is not the main motivation. Time is the real determinant! If you want to innovate, you have to choose a reasonable and achievable project that is not only achievable but can be implemented quickly. I expect these technologies will be easier to solve time problems than other technologies.

As you begin to look at problems in terms of time rather than money, the whole world and the solution to the problem will begin to change. For example, middleware projects have been closely related to large-scale changes. We can recall the transformation of mainframe and client/server to Web. There is also the transition process from Web application to service-oriented architecture (SOA). For a long time, the core of the problem revolves around a "big" word, but it is expensive and big means slow. If you want to win in the race of time, you need to consider cheaper and quicker ways to pay, for example, by the resources that are consumed by application and application, or by the number of connections on the Enterprise Service Bus (ESB). But the public cloud is an exception, and we all know that the key to the problem is not how well it is doing in the business at the moment. Therefore, I believe that the core middleware technology in the current use of the way beyond the real has a unique and very interesting new opportunities.

I expect two factors to drive this process from a capacity perspective: cloud computing and lightweight development. The cloud has a highly competitive and affordable delivery model, so that middleware can be easily used in areas we have never been involved in, including some potential small and medium business areas. Over the past few years, I have found that the excitement of the cloud is growing, and that this excitement is now being transformed into action. This means that ubiquitous middleware will become a reality as a whole, as large and slow barriers will fade away.

In order to achieve this goal, lightweight development language becomes the key. Lightweight frameworks and containers are not a novelty in themselves, but lightweight development requires a robust architecture. In a sense, lightweight projects have become victims of their own success. Now, these projects need to be plugged into some background or SOA. This balance must be created to convince those who are most at risk that it does work. I think we made a successful transition this year by using the Red Hat JBoss Enterprise creator Platform 6 in this area, and I expect that we will have much more to do next year.

Finally, one of the areas that has become mainstream today is mobile computing. However, the speed with which this technology is adopted will likely accelerate further in the enterprise. Organizations that have dealings with consumers, such as health care or retail banking, want to significantly enhance their customers ' mobile experience. In my opinion, the ability to deliver services through telephones, tablets, or embedded devices is incredibly important today and may be of greater significance in our field.

The problem, however, is not just the consumer side. The so-called self-belt equipment (BYOD) movement reflects this trend from the perspective of the enterprise. These changes can lead to more choices, and mobile and flat-panel applications will have a huge impact on the way it brings technology to the knowledge workers. So how does moving relate to cloud and lightweight? The rapid development of demand-boosting lines of business (lobs) is the end user. Mobility simply concentrates these requirements together and may eventually become a factor in changing the size of future middleware games, because it makes it possible to cloud and lightweight.

I've shared a lot of ideas here, and I hope some of them will resonate with what you see or hear. Cloud, mobile, and lightweight technologies will continue to play a key role in shaping the enterprise IT landscape, but it will present a whole new set of exciting forms. These technologies have become tools-the means to achieve new goals-and I don't think we fully see the full impact they have on the world. As these technologies mature, new doors will open and new perspectives will be created, and because of this, it will be a thrilling moment to participate in the Red Hat Company's actions.
