Doug Purdy, the Facebook developer product director, said in Friday that in the past 30 days, a total of 230 million people played games on their website facebook.com Doug Purti.
Purdy also revealed that 8 of the top 10 iphone apps have been integrated with Facebook. Facebook provides games directly on Facebook.com, and via the SDK (software Development kit) pushes data from third party apps on platforms such as Android and iphone to Facebook. Clearly, Facebook's two sources of traffic are sticky and valuable.
Chris Dixon, a leading technology expert, argues that Facebook remains the "growth engine" of the internet world, measured by standards such as traffic, user interaction and revenue-generating capabilities, given that so many users play games on Facebook, Chris Dickson said.
In the past 30 days, Facebook has contributed 150 million times to the two major app stores, including Apple's App Store and Google Play, highlighting the value of Facebook as an advertising platform, Purdy said.
