In the future, consumers purchase any brand of 3D glasses, is expected to be compatible with other brands of 3D flat-panel TVs, projectors and computers and other display equipment. It is reported that 4 companies will cooperate to develop and authorize the RF-based active 3D glasses technology. This technology will include communication protocols for civilian 3D active eyewear and 3D display equipment (3D TV, 3D pc, 3D projector, and 3D Theater system using Xpand mode). GM glasses will be put into the market in 2012 and will be compatible with the active 3D TVs that are listed in 2011.
