4MLinux is a mini distribution of Linux. The main four functions are: system maintenance and recovery tools, multimedia video playback, micro server (using inetd background process) and game consoles.

The 4MLinux 2.3 version is a 4mlinux-2.2-server version of the updated version, updated content:

-Server controlled by inetd background: FTP, HTTP, SFTP, SSH, and Telnet.
-Supports a proxy server (Polipo1.0.4.1).
-The programming environment includes the PHP5.3.6 CGI version, the smallest version of Perl5.14.1,sqlite 3.7.7.1.
-The primary security component is the 4MLinux firewall (based on iptables 1.4.11.1) and F-prot antivirus software.
