A 29-Year-old MBA student in the United States has recently filed a lawsuit with Chicago bid over the ownership of the "Chicago 2016.COM" website. The student, Stephen, from Northwestern University, bought the "Chicago 2016.COM" site domain name 4 years ago from a Japanese company. Two years ago, Chicago formally offered to bid for the 2016 Summer Olympics, and "Chicago 2016" as a trademark. At present they use the official website name "Chicago 2016.ORG". However, both the Chicago bid and the IOC thought they should have the "Chicago 2016.COM" site domain name, so they appealed the matter to an international arbitration organization, which was expected to give an answer in Monday. Stephen also did not idle, in order to stop the Chicago bid and the United States Olympic Committee action, two days ago in Chicago, the United States federal District Court formally sued the two committees. A spokesman for the Chicago bid said they thought the "Chicago 2016.COM" logically owned by bid, "We believe that other people mastering the domain name might mislead people into finding information from their Chicago bid." Stephen currently has 40 other sites with both city and year names, and last month he officially opened "Chicago 2016.COM", in the hope that people could discuss the Chicago bid in the site. The IOC announced in Athens this June that the host city of the 2016 Olympic Games will be produced in 4 cities in Chicago, Tokyo, Madrid and Rio de Janeiro. The IOC will decide on the ownership of the Olympic Games in October next year.
