This paper expounds the scientific and technological basis of cloud design, including design science, cloud Manufacturing, IoT, cloud computing, Computer aided industrial design ( CAID), engineering, aesthetics, psychology, ergonomics, ontology and philosophy; The architecture of cloud design service system is divided into three layers: service, running platform and resource, and key technologies, including resource cloud technology, service management technology, resource provider and user management technology, security and trusted guarantee technology, etc. and gives the brief procedure and the preliminary conclusion of cloud design application, and points out the direction for the follow-up research and application.
