Against icloud HTC and Dropbox to develop cloud storage

Yesterday evening, HTC officially released its flagship smartphone HTC One series this year, including one X, one s for the global market and three Dragon series new machines for the Chinese market.

HTC will work with foreign cloud storage service providers, Dropbox, to develop new mobile cloud storage services that will be built into the new HTC flagship device, and consumers who buy new machines will have a two-year lifetime of 25GB storage space, said CEO Peter Chou today. It is understood that the current 50GB storage space on the Dropbox cost of $9.99 per month.

At the same time HTC has made improvements to previous content and services in its newly produced Android devices, including cameras, music services, Beats Audio services, and more.

However, HTC did not specify which models of handsets will be pre-installed Dropbox, and whether the old users can get free space and so on. HTC's benefits will only be available on mobile phones that run the new sense 3.5 interface, and the service is built into the HTC One series handsets released yesterday, according to the SlashGear website.

Currently Dropbox official website in mainland China can intermittent access, but not download desktop applications. Whether HTC's built-in cloud storage services can be used in mainland China is still unknown.
