The whole world is on the cusp, safer than ever. There are many sacrifices, there are many new areas.

Only time can tell how this will happen.

Meeker (Mary Meeker), a "Queen of the Internet", sent out her new prophecy on the development of science and Technology at the D11 Conference.

One annual Internet trend report, Mikel has become a spokesperson for new trends and new areas of technology and investment. In the 2013 Internet Trends Report (English version), Mikel concludes:

Benefiting from emerging markets, the total number of Internet users in 2012 was 2.4 billion, with a growth rate of 8% per cent, with China topping the list.

According to the number of independent visitors in the world, the top 10 sites ranked first three are Google, Microsoft and Facebook, Chinese companies, Tencent, Baidu ranked among the top ten.

2012, the number of 3G users around the world 1.5 billion, year-on-year growth of 31%,3g penetration rate of 21%. The rapid growth of mobile devices is still at an early stage and still has 3-4 times the development space.

Smart-phone operating systems are leading the games. 2005, Nokia Symbian accounted for about 65% of the share, 2012 only about 5% left. In 2005 years, IOS, Android, Windows phone accounted for only 5% of the share, in 2012 years, the three platforms accounted for more than 85% of the share.

Smartphones and tablet ecosystems are young, and new devices such as wearable equipment, driving, flying and scanning have been exposed. New technology products shipments and the number of users are often the previous generation of mainstream technology products 10 times times.

"You can run away, but there's nowhere to hide." "With the rise of the new forces of movement, everything about work and life is being reshaped:

People used to sing and dance at concerts, and now they are making videos, sending Twitter messages and sharing them with friends. Digital information created and shared over the past five years has grown 9 times times. People upload and share 500 million photos every day, doubling the number every two years.

Video uploaded to YouTube every minute for 100 hours. But there are more videos uploaded to Dropcam every minute than YouTube.

Sounds like you just got back on the phone. SoundCloud's voice uploaded every minute to 11 hours.

Social media has grown rapidly, Facebook has led the wave, YouTube, Twitter, Google, Pinterest, Instagram, and Tumblr have grown rapidly.

For the past 20 years, the rise of cheap and available computing has allowed people to get global access to goods globally, including shared goods, and the growth of a new generation of geek entrepreneurs, jobs, Sergei, Larry Page and Zuckerberg, to change the world by creating big companies like Apple, Google and Facebook, The rise of social networks allows people to discover, create, and share with each other.

"(Let us) on the epic Internet palette, turn passion into a career." Mikel gave a shout.

Aggressive mobile growth

In the 2013 summary and prediction, Mikel gave the fastest signal to move. "Social and communication on smartphones makes American users feel real-time online, excited, inquisitive, interesting, and productive." Obi-Mikel said.

The first mobile Internet growth dimension is traffic.

In the data she disclosed, mobile devices accounted for only 0.9% per cent of the Internet traffic in May 2009; the share increased to 2.4% per cent a year later, and that share grew to 15% this May. It is expected that by the end of next year, this share will increase to a staggering 30%.

Data from around the world over the past year is evidence of the rapid growth of the mobile internet. In China, the percentage of Internet users using mobile phones surpassed PCs in the second quarter of 2012; in South Korea, in the fourth quarter of 2012, the number of subscribers using mobile phones was more than that of PCs; in North America, 45% of Groupon deals were done by mobile phones, up from less than 15% two years ago. Facebook is also a beneficiary of the mobile internet, which has boosted its user and revenue growth by 43% in the first quarter, 54%,ARPU growth of active mobile-phone users by 15%, and the growth of mobile ARPU to offset the decline in desktop ARPU.

Another dimension of mobile growth is mobile devices.

In 2012, Mikel believes that mobile device usage is growing rapidly and is still in its early stages. A year in the past, she still positioned it in the early stages, and called it a huge (3-4 times) space for development. 2011, the number of 3G users around the world 1.1 billion, year-on-year growth of 37%,3g penetration rate of 18%. This group of figures in 2012 has been rewritten to 1.5 billion users, growth rate of 31%, the penetration rate reached 21%.

In terms of equipment growth, Apple has grown rapidly over the past two years, with a 1.4 times-fold increase in market share and 7 times-fold expansion of Samsung. Tablets are growing faster than smartphones, such as the ipad, which is growing at 3 times times the size of the iphone, and the tablet is just 3 years old.

These do not mean the end of growth. Mikel predicts that the percentage of mobile traffic to global Internet traffic will increase by 1.5 times times a year, and even keep accelerating.

Commercial potential from the mobile internet has not been fully tapped. 2012, the United States Internet advertising scale of 37 billion U.S. dollars, mobile advertising only 4 billion U.S. dollars. She argues that advertising on the internet and on the move does not match the time that users have on both devices. Now the average Netizen spends 12% of their time on their mobile devices, and those mobile devices share only 3% of America's advertising spending.

Mobile advertisers have yet to see the value of smartphones and tablets, Mikel said. If the share of advertising spending by mobile devices catches up with the amount of user time they occupy, it will add 20 billion of dollars in advertising opportunities.

Learn from China

In 2012, Obi-Mikel praised American companies for their very encouraging performance in the technology sector, which this year praised Chinese companies.

"In terms of volume and innovation, China is worth learning. Mikel insists.

In total, China's iOS and Android users outnumbered the US in the first quarter of 2013, and Chinese users spent more time using mobile and Internet services than they did in the United States. China's figure is 55%, and the US is 38%.

Internet companies have shown unprecedented performance. Alibaba's total volume of goods in the fourth quarter of 2012 surpassed that of Amazon and ebay. Jingdong Mall in China more than 25 cities to carry out the same day service, merchandise delivery progress can be real-time tracking inquiries. Sina Weibo users are growing twice times a year, more than 530 million, and revenues from no more than $100 million trillion. And in Beijing air quality testing, spontaneous organization of emergency relief, through the user to help promote social change. Interestingly, taxi software, which is emerging in China and regulated, is also written in Mikel's PPT.

The development of Chinese Internet companies depends on the huge changes in the volume of China's economy. Over the past 30 years (1980-2010), China's share of world GDP has climbed from less than 5% to 15% in 2010, while the share of Europe and the United States has been declining, with Europe probably down from 30% to 16% and the US from 25% to 19%.

Prospective: Highly skilled immigrants

Despite the declining global share of U.S. GDP, Mikel has made a big presentation on the prospects for highly skilled immigrants in the United States. This is unprecedented in previous reports.

At present 99% of Americans are immigrants or descendants of immigrants. According to the results of the 2010 U.S. Census, there were 306 million immigrants or mobile descendants, and only 3 million Native Americans. The number of highly skilled immigrants accounted for only 1% of the total population of the United States. Specific to the technology sector, the top 25 technology companies, from the first generation and the second generation of Americans to create the company accounted for 60%.

Why do you want to post a highly skilled immigrant report? This is a very important issue for the technology industry. She said.

As a global leader in the technology industry, it is clear that immigrants with degrees in STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) are particularly important in enhancing the dynamism of technology companies. The reality is that the lack of highly skilled STEM workers in the United States has even allowed technology leaders to see such flaws as limiting their ability to compete and increase employment opportunities.

How scarce is it? According to Mikel, only IBM, Intel, Microsoft, Oracle and Qualcomm's five companies currently have a total of 10,000 vacant jobs in the United States. Most start-ups and technology companies are unable to hire enough engineers to work.

The lack of talent for science and technology can only be alleviated in the expectation of American graduates. In computer science, for example, in 2010-2020, there were about 51474 graduates of a bachelor's degree in computer sciences, but the current number of open jobs was 122300, equivalent to 2.4 times times that of computer science graduates.

"Immigration reform in the United States is imminent and the direction of future development is likely to be determined this year." Mikel predicted.
