Beijing Time February 6, according to foreign media reports, a few days ago, AMD abandoned its commitment to the development of x86 framework, announced a new design strategy, in the future AMD chips for the use of ARM technology to pave the way.

AMD says the company will allow the wisdom of third-party companies to be integrated into future processors as part of a tailored chip plan for consumers. If consumers need other architectures, including x86, AMD will combine its own design philosophy with Third-party companies to meet the needs of consumers. New AMD products will closely cater to the needs of consumers. Although the statement does not directly point to the use of ARM technology, the company is open to using other instruction set architectures, including Arm,mips and PowerPC.

The new strategy is based largely on changes in the computing industry. Tablets and smartphones have been widely used, but the x86 chips produced by AMD and Intel have not yet taken a place on these devices. The Windows 8 operating system developed by Microsoft for PCs and tablets will be able to run simultaneously on x86 and arm.

AMD has a 20 million-quarter x86 processor sales, and the company has a long history of x86 architecture, so the transition is not easy for AMD.
