U.S. DDG-56 John McCain destroyer Global Times June 13 reported that a Chinese submarine collided with a towed sonar of a U.S. warship near Subic B. in the Philippines, CNN reported 12th. Reports quoted U.S. military sources said the incident occurred in local time Thursday (11th). The submarine sonar towed by the American "John McCain" destroyer was damaged after the collision. The Chinese and American ships fortunately did not collide. The US side said it did not consider the incident to be a "deliberate" result of the Chinese side, near the drag-and-drop sonar is likely to entangle the submarine's propeller, causing a huge danger to the submarine.
