The last week of March was a really hectic week for staff in the Asian Data center area. At least three large data centres in Asia have announced the official launch or commencement of construction work, which occurred on the same day.
The rise of Asia's data centre business is not surprising. Not only India, but the region as a whole is opening up its own way in the modern Internet arena, and Asia is demonstrating the fast-growing nature of the industry, because the ways to connect users and businesses are constantly being optimized. The large-scale launch of the Asian Regional Data Centre also reflects the trend towards the globalization of data centers.
In Japan, Oracle announced the launch of a new datacenter to support Oracle right now cloud services. After the establishment of the complete Oracle Engineer system, including Oracle RightNow WEB experience, RightNow Social experience, RightNow contact Center experience, RightNow engage and a number of services and platforms, including Oracle RightNow service experience platform, will be open to all Asian users through this local data center. Oracle believes that the best way to improve data flow control and management is to use local data centers to provide services, which is much better than putting data centers far away from the rest of the world.
In China, the telecommunications service provider Pacnet Pacnet has launched an area of 14000 square meters of three-level data center, which is network neutral and supports more than 2000 high-density power racks. Through the data center, direct access to the Pacnet in the domestic network, as well as its fully autonomous ownership of the submarine cable infrastructure. The data center's customers are targeted at all business and carrier customers in the country, but so far Pacnet has not publicly disclosed any information about the new data center tenant.
In Singapore, data center service provider Equinix announced that it would establish its third data centre in Singapore. The data centre, which covers an area of over 35000 square meters, supports more than 5,000 racks, mainly for financial services and cloud computing services, and is expected to be officially opened in the second quarter of 2014.
