Android 5.1 new features: Single Stroke close dropdown bar

The quietly launched Android 5.1 was found recently on Micromax's Android one device, but there is no official documentation for the updated content. However, foreign enthusiasts Ramit Suri still found something new.

In Android 5.0, Google introduced a two-part Drop-down bar: A single drop-down display notice, and then pull down to call out the center of the shortcut. However, when you want to close down the bar, you also need to slide two times-this is unnecessary. With Android 5.1, users can close the entire dropdown with just one stroke.

The same is true when you lock the screen, in Android 5.1, when you call out the two-segment dropdown in a lock-screen state, the user can row outside the shortcut settings panel to pull up the Drop-down bar and unlock the phone (without a password or connection to a trusted device/face Detection pass).

In short, Android 5.1 shortens the process of unlocking and picking up two high-frequency interactions in the dropdown bar by nearly half.
