Google Android is the most widely used mobile platform in the U.S. market, with a market share of 36.4%, the research firm comscore reported today, according to a report released late June 3 in Beijing. Apple ranked second, with a market share of 26%. By the end of April this year, 74.6 million Americans had smartphones, up 13% from the end of January this year, according to the report. In addition, 234 million Americans over the age of 13 use mobile devices. Samsung is the largest OEM manufacturer, with 24.5% of U.S. mobile users using its devices. LG ranked second, with a market share of 20.9%. Motorola third, market share is 15.6%. Apple four, market share is 8.3%. Rim V, market share is 8.2%.
