Apache's Hadoop Cloud Computing Architecture releases version 1.0

Apache Hadoop is the most exciting open source project in a decade, and now has 1.0 releases.

The open source cloud computing architecture, which began with technology created by Yahoo and Google, has been on the market for six of years now for major companies, including Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Microsoft, Netflix LinkedIn and Twitter.

The Apache Software Foundation today launched version 1.0, which includes all previous "Big Data" cloud computing Features: scalability, distributed computing and support for hbase transaction records, robust authentication to Kerberos and Webhdfs, and access to hbase local file enhanced performance.

Apache points out that this platform "can enable data-intensive distributed applications to host thousands of outlets and bytes of data ...
