APEC Plan the Way forward

To reshape the economic growth model uphold the principle of free trade and continue to accelerate regional integration The two-day APEC (APEC) 17th Leadership Informal meeting, 15th, ended in the presidential palace in Singapore.　　From the Singapore Declaration and the joint statement issued by the 21-member leaders, they are committed to the Asia-Pacific region to plan for future development. At the meeting, APEC leaders sought to answer three questions: how to reshape the economic growth model? How to further implement the "free and open trade and investment" concept?　　How can the regional integration process be further promoted?　　Reshaping the model of economic growth at present, more and more APEC members recognize that the pre-crisis growth model is unsustainable and that it is imperative to find a balanced, inclusive and sustainable economic growth model.　　Under the Singapore Declaration, the so-called "balance" is to ensure that Members ' macroeconomic policies, regulatory and structural policies as a whole contribute to a more sustainable and balanced economic growth.　　The so-called "containment" is to ensure that more people share the opportunities and benefits offered by economic growth.　　The so-called "sustainable", one of its important content is to develop green economy, pay attention to energy conservation and environmental issues, and actively respond to the challenges posed by climate change. Uphold the principle of free trade in the current context, APEC members adhere to the "free and open trade and investment" has a special importance. After the global financial crisis erupted last September, protectionist forces were on the rise worldwide.　　If protectionism is allowed to spread, the world's economic recovery will be stalled and one of the foundations of APEC's success will be challenged.　　APEC leaders stressed that the most effective way to deal with protectionist pressures and ensure a sustained recovery in the world economy is to bring about an ambitious and balanced agreement in the World Trade Organization Doha round. It is one of the important goals of APEC to continue to accelerate regional integration and achieve regional integration. APEC will usher in the first "standard year" in 2010.　　Under the Bogor goal of 1994, developed members will achieve "trade and investment liberalization" in 2010, and developing members will achieve this goal in 2020.　　APEC leaders reaffirmed their commitment to the Bogor goal of "open, free trade and investment" and to continue to explore the conditions for achieving that goal by taking the Asia-Pacific free trade Area as a possible vision. To speed up regional integration, APEC members will adopt a comprehensive approach, summarizing the three "frontier theories".　　The first is to reduce barriers to trade and investment in each other's borders, to improve the investment environment, to reduce the cost of doing business and to create a better environment for business.
