Argentina, China to sign fishery cooperation agreement

Xinhua Buenos Aires, January 21 (Xinhua Song Jieyun Feng Junyang) The Argentine Ministry of Agriculture and Animal husbandry and Fisheries announced 21st that it will sign a fisheries cooperation agreement with China to strengthen cooperation in the areas of fishing and production in the two countries.　　According to a bulletin issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal husbandry and fisheries, the two countries will sign a fisheries cooperation agreement on the basis of equality and mutual benefit, and strengthen cooperation in the areas of fishery fishing and aquaculture, aquatic products processing, fishing vessel construction and maintenance, fishing gear equipment production, fishery resources management and protection.　　In addition, the two countries will deepen dialogue and cooperation in the areas of deepening cooperation between the two countries ' fisheries sectors, establishing joint ventures in fisheries, allowing their fishing vessels to enter their ports for the replenishment and maintenance of vessels, unloading or transshipment of aquatic products.　　The two countries also agreed to set up a fisheries cooperation sub-Committee under the Sino-Arab Committee on Agricultural Cooperation, to clarify and coordinate fishing operations in the exclusive economic zone of the two countries, and to promote exchanges between the two countries in the areas of fishery aquaculture, aquatic products processing and marketing.　　The announcement said that the two countries signed a fisheries cooperation agreement is valid for 5 years, after the expiration will be automatically renewed every two years. Argentina is rich in fishery resources, but these resources have not been well developed and utilized, and fisheries are currently not a high share of Argentine economic activity.
