October 31, Autodesk announced in Thursday that it would invest $100 million to create a 3D print fund called the Spark Investment Fund (Spark investment Fund) to finance innovative companies and designers in 3D printing.
Autodesk currently encourages innovative companies and designers interested in developing hardware, software, and materials to apply for a portfolio of "spark investment funds".
Back in May this year, Autodesk released the Ember Open source 3D printer, as well as the "spark" platform. Although the platform has not yet been officially operational, it has been able to work with many different types of 3D printers and materials to produce specially designed items. Autodesk wants the 3D print community to work together to improve the platform, as well as Ember Open source 3D printers and the company's materials.
Autodesk is looking to invest in a promising 3D printing company. Companies that have received "spark investment funds" will be selected as Autodesk's Spark Partner Program and able to use the services of other selected companies. Current spark partners include 3D Hubs, Authentise, Dremel, Local motors and Matterfab.
Samir Hannah Samir Hanna, vice president of Autodesk Consumer products and 3D printing, said: "Many industries agree to the practice of digging up the value of entrepreneurs and innovative companies with good ideas and ideas, and the 3D printing field is no exception." ”
