Netease Technology News July 16 news, Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Jay (Jay Y. Lee) recently appeared frequently in the public eye, in order to prepare for succession.

Since Lee's father, chairman Lee Kun-Hee, was hospitalized in May for heart disease, the number of Li's clients who had been tarnished far away from the media began to increase in number of public meetings witnessed and executives held.

According to the Yonhap news agency reported on Wednesday, anonymous sources said Lee recently met with Kevin Plank, the CEO of the U.S. sports equipment brand Under Armor, and it looks as if both parties are ready to work together on developing wearable products, To prevent the future Apple and Nike and other companies to establish cooperation.

A Samsung spokesman declined to confirm the meeting, and Under Armor has not commented on the story. It is not yet clear which two companies will work together to develop which products. A spokesman for Samsung Electronics said: "We do not comment on market rumors or speculation."

Earlier this month, Lee was also in talks with Apple CEO Tim Cook and Liberty Global CEO Michael Fries during a media and technology conference.

To boost Samsung's share of the wearable device market, Samsung has been investing more and Samsung recently introduced a health wristband called Simband, which is not on the market but for research and development purposes. As of now, Samsung's wearable products are mainly focused on smart watches, which said in an official blog post last month that the company accounts for 70% of the global smart watch market.

Analysts predict that Apple will release smart watch products later this year, which will pose a threat to Samsung's Gear series of smart watches. (Think far)
