Sun enters smartphone company RIM BlackBerry America time in Monday to launch a tablet computer playbook to challenge Apple's ipad. Rim, which is expected to sell the device to corporate users and developers in October and plans to go on sale in early 2011, is still uncertain, but Rim says playbook prices will be priced at the lower limit of consumer tablet products. RIM's new tablet will use a different operating system from the BlackBerry. The operating system was developed based on the QNX platform, which was recently acquired by Rim. Susquehanna, a market-research agency, says RIM plans to produce 2.5 million blackpad tablets in the four quarter of this year. Apple's ipad Tablet PC shipped 3.27 million units in the three quarter. Research firm Gartner analysts said rim should focus more on corporate apps rather than trying to attract consumer users. At present, HP, Samsung, Sharp and other manufacturers have launched a similar tablet computer, Motorola, etc. will also be involved in this area. RIM also launched the BlackBerry App Platform advertising service. BlackBerry Advertising Service will help developers quickly and easily integrate advertising in software applications, while allowing advertising agencies and brands to establish partnerships with their wide range of advertising networks. According to the plan, developers will share 60% of advertising revenue according to industry standards. According to a report by the analysis agency ISUPPLI, the total number of global Tablet PCs is expected to reach 15.4 million in 2010, with Apple having 12.8 million ipads, up from 74.1%. With the addition of many manufacturers, by 2011, Apple's share of shipments will gradually decline to 70.4%. By the year 2012, the ipad will only control nearly two-thirds of shipments, and the share will reach 61.7%.
