Financial information supplier FactSet Research survey shows that analysts expect the average earnings of blizzard to be adjusted to 12 cents per share after the second quarter.
Blizzard's second-quarter revenue was $1.075 billion, down from $1.146 billion a year earlier. Not in accordance with U.S. general accounting standards, dynamic Blizzard second quarter adjusted revenue to 1.05 billion U.S. dollars, higher than the same period last year, 699 million U.S. dollars, more than analysts had expected. Analysts are expected to see Blizzard's second-quarter earnings as 836.3 million dollars, according to a Thomson Reuters survey. Blizzard's second-quarter operating profit was $227 million, down from $467 million a year earlier.
As of June 30, 2012, the number of paid subscribers to Blizzard's World of Warcraft was about 9.1 million, down from about 1 million in the first quarter.
Blizzard estimates that, according to U.S. General accounting standards, the 2012 fiscal year revenue of 4.33 billion U.S. dollars, higher than the company previously expected 4.2 billion U.S. dollars, earnings per share of 69 cents, higher than the company's previous expected 65 cents. Not in accordance with U.S. general accounting standards, the 2012 fiscal year revenue of 4.63 billion U.S. dollars, higher than the company previously expected 4.53 billion U.S. dollars, adjusted earnings per share of 99 cents, higher than the previous expected 95 cents.
Blizzard also predicted that, according to the U.S. General accounting standards, the fiscal year 2012 third quarter revenue of 740 million U.S. dollars, 6 cents per share, not according to U.S. general accounting standards, revenue of 690 million U.S. dollars, adjusted earnings per share of 7 cents, less than analysts had expected. According to FactSet Research survey, analysts expected to see the third quarter of Blizzard adjusted earnings per share of 12 cents, revenue of 730 million U.S. dollars.
Blizzard decided to release the "Pandalia Mist" (Mists of Pandaria) in the New World of Warcraft film on September 25.
