The cell processor, developed jointly by IBM, Sony and Toshiba 17872.html >, is currently used mainly in Sony PS3 consoles, televisions and supercomputers.

IBM's last involvement in the development of the cell processor was Powexcell 8i, which was used in the supercomputer "Roadrunner". In the latest "Global Super Computer 500" rankings, "cuckoo" from the top down to the second, the operation speed of 1.042 petajoules times per second.
