The survey showed that, as of January 2011, the total number of Brazilian broadband (including fixed and mobile) users reached 36.1 million, compared with January 2010 growth of 53%. Among them, mobile broadband access (including the use of modem access and 3G access) user growth reached 85%. As of January 2011, high-speed Internet access has covered 88% of the country's cities, serving 185 million residents, accounting for 96% of the total population. The survey found that in Brazil, there are 1551 cities with at least two high-speed Internet access providers, 1035 of which have less than 50,000 inhabitants, and 60% of the country's population 510 have at least 3 high-speed Internet service providers and 174 cities with 86 million residents have at least 5 high-speed Internet service providers.
