Brief description of Windows Azure

As far as I know, by upgrading the Eclipse plug-in, Microsoft provides shortcuts for Java developers to develop in Windows Azure. Microsoft announced last week the Eclipse plug-in for Windows Azure CTP (Community Marvell Preview), The main purpose is to help eclipse users build and configure some of the things that Java application Deployment packs on Windows Azure for easy purposes.

Martin Sawicki, senior project director of the Microsoft interoperability strategy team, said on his blog, "I invite you to take a look at our latest version and share your feedback." To help us get better and make the Java developers take full advantage of Windows Azure.

There are a number of ways to build packages and deploy to Windows Azure, including Visual Studio and command-line based tools. For Java developers, we believe that the Eclipse plug-in provided by Microsoft can help developers streamline processes. And we've received strong feedback from developers, and these excellent learning tools can help developers understand how to take advantage of the benefits Windows Azure offers.

New features include remote access configuration to troubleshoot user interfaces, and schema validation and automatic compilation of *.cscfg and *.csdef Azure configuration files. Other major features include the Azure Project Creation Wizard, a utility sample script for downloading and decompressing files, shortcuts for testing Azure compute emulator deployments, and more.

Developers can download plug-ins here or take advantage of Eclipse's Install New Software feature. This plug-in is a Java Starter kit for Windows Azure, and we released a third version of the CTP in June, prior to the first two CTP versions in March and April.

Finally, Martin Sawicki said, "We will continue to update these tools so that they can help in the development of the entire Windows Azure project."
