British luxury goods dealer Net-a-porter again last year, revenue to achieve double-digit growth

Net-a-porter, a British luxury-goods dealer, lost again last year, but lost more than 4 million pounds in the previous year.

In a document submitted to the British companies Registry (Companies House), Net-a-porter disclosed that it had achieved a total revenue of £ 434.6 million in the year ending March 31, 2013, up 18% per cent from the previous year's 368.1 million pounds, As a result of lower discounts and a refocusing of full price sales, Net-a-porter's gross profit margin rose to 45.6% per cent in the previous year, with a pre-tax loss of 27 million pounds to 23.2 million pounds in the previous year.

Despite double-digit growth in revenue, the Net-a-porter luxury website warns that the luxury e-commerce industry is facing growing competition from luxury retailers, fashion brands and other e-commerce sites, net-a-porter "by adding new designer brands, Strengthen technology input and customer online experience, provide authoritative content and professional voice "to confront the increasingly serious challenge."

Affiliated to the world's second largest luxury group Compagnie financière Richemont SA (CFR. VX Group's net-a-porter also revealed an increase in performance since March 31, 2013 compared with the previous year.

Net-a-porter owns the Outnet three business of the women's luxury shopping website net-a-porter.com, the men's luxury sales website Mr Porter and the discount luxury sales website. In the year ended March 31, 2013, Net-a-porter has set up offices in New York, Hong Kong and Shanghai, and has launched Chinese net-a-porter.com.
