Although Android devices are much higher than iOS devices, the iOS platform is still more lucrative than the Android platform for business, according to the latest data from the US Technology blog, Insider, bi FDI, a market research agency.
According to the BI FDI data, the Android developer only gets 0.19 dollars for every 1 dollars that iOS developers can get from app downloads. This means that the iOS platform is 5 times times more revenue per app for developers than the Android platform.
By contrast, the gap between the two platforms in terms of paid applications and purchases is smaller. Developers can get $0.43 on the Android platform for every 1 dollars they get on the iOS platform. The two platforms have the closest ad revenue, and Android will get $0.77 for every 1 dollars on the iOS platform.
Insiders say the data further suggests that Android could win market share battles, and that iOS could be a winner in user interaction. Advertising agency Nanigans last month posted data that Facebook's mobile ads on iOS devices are 18 times times more likely to return than Android devices.
