CA layoffs cut 1000 jobs to save costs simplify organization

As a result, the CA will increase the pre-tax cost of about $47 million in the fourth quarter of the company's fiscal year. In a memo to employees, CA CEO Bill McCracken explained the reason for the layoffs. Industry and markets are changing, he says, and companies will need to adjust, including focusing their product lines and research and development resources on more lucrative areas.
