Xinhua Phnom Penh, June 12 (Reporter Wang Qibing and Zhao Bethong) The Cambodian government held a children's theme photo exhibition on the 12th at the Sirikit International Convention and Exposition Center in Phnom Penh to mark "World No Child Labor Day" on June 12.
The "World No Child Labor Day" originated from the 90th International Labor Conference in Geneva in June 2002, which decided to designate June 12 as the "World No Child Labor Day" and called for all countries in the world to pay close attention to the issue of child labor. This year's theme is "Human rights and social justice, let's end child labor."
Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia Mensen, Information Minister Qiao Kanari and representatives of international organizations attended the day's activities. Mensonan said that Cambodian youth accounts for about half of the country's total population. The event shows the Cambodian community's concern for the rights and life of adolescents and children and helps enhance the ability of adolescents to recognize themselves and their community.
The children's theme photo exhibition was jointly organized by the Department of Public Information of Cambodia and the International Labor Organization. More than 60 children's themed photographic works were exhibited, showing the changes in the living conditions of Cambodian children in the recent 30 years.
