Case study: Logo Design System method

Logo design is very time-consuming, because it is difficult to express our design concepts and meet the needs of our customers. How to design it?

1. Research

2. Come up with some ideas.

Once we have completed our research, mastered a great deal of information, and have a preliminary impression of what we are going to create, we can start brainstorming and creating ideas through a form called the morphological matrix. This is my secret weapon in logo design, a way to organize ideas effectively and combine them to produce clear ideas. Mind mapping is also a good way to help your inspiration flow like a torrent.

The method of morphological matrix is to take out a piece of white paper and then list some elements and components of logo design on the left side. Then, on the right, make your own ideas about each element. Conceptual, symbolic, practical, innovative, all put them on the right. Here is a picture of the morphological matrix. Since the customer is a stock brokerage company, concentrate on mining stocks. I decided to add a bit of line-painted peaks that represent both mining and stock movements. Remember that the most important thing in logo design is recognition, so we have to design unique logos so that people will remember.

  

3. Choose the type of logo

Explanatory logo

4. Start with black and white sketches first

5. Font

Do not use too many kinds of fonts in logo design, that creates very complex effects, and the perception is very uneven, one or two fonts is enough. If you want to make sure that your fonts are unique, you can design them yourself, or change them from existing fonts.

  

6. Determine the overall color

Color is also a very important element of the logo in the group, because the logo can be quickly converted to the viewer's feelings through color. Our thoughts are imaged by the subconscious of color, so we have to use color psychology to create the exact logo. When we choose a color, we should consider the meaning of different colors. There are a lot of color selection tools on the web, such as "Color Lovers" and "Adobe Kuler", which can help us choose the color system quickly and conveniently.

7. Organized together

All the elements are ready and now start relatively simple but complex parts of the organization. Make sure that you take vector graphics so that scaling does not lose quality. Look at your logo to see if the effect will not be bad, will there be some other effect?
