Cater to self-portrait and wearable trends: HTC plans to release M9 flagship in March

HTC is planning to release its first-featured M-series mobile phone in March as the new flagship, and will launch its smart watch. HTC's net profit of 2011, which once amounted to $2 billion trillion, has been slipping again and again, but in the second quarter of 2014, the company has turned around and reached a total of $1.5 billion trillion in fourth. The launch of the new mobile phone and the first smart watch is expected to help HTC regain its performance.

Continuing HTC's one M8, the new phone model is M9 and employs HTC's consistent gold-grey system. M9 is not only equipped with a 20 million megapixel rear-facing camera, but also comes with a sharper pixel ultrapixel as a front-facing camera, the image taken in the dark will be clearer. According to available information, M9 will carry the Qualcomm 8 core Snapdragon processor, using the Dolby 5.1 surround sound technology, while applying HTC's newest sense 7 interface.

HTC's first smart watch will also be released in March with less information, but HTC will collaborate with sportswear company under Amour, the US sports-brand company that released its sports testing equipment Armour39 in 2013 and acquired the health applications MapMyFitness.

HTC is expected to launch a new product before and after the World Mobile Communications Conference in Barcelona in March, such as Samsung, Huawei's smartphone giant. The release of the smart watch shows HTC wants to look for business opportunities outside the slowing smartphone market following the release of the RE camera last year.
