China Cloud standard enters research stage or launches next year

The "Cloud Computing Standards Seminar", led by the SOA standard Working Group of the National Information Technology Standardization Technical Committee, was held at Northeastern University from June 2, 2011 to 3rd. The meeting has conducted extensive research on the relevant standards of cloud computing. The target is a recommended national standard, aimed at promoting the healthy and orderly development of China's cloud computing industry, to be officially launched in 2012.

Cloud computing has been emerging and widely used at home and abroad, but in the basic concepts of cloud computing and common terminology there is a different understanding and more controversy, the domestic standard organization of cloud computing in the field of basic terminology has not given a system definition. With more than 20 definitions of cloud computing currently in the industry, this symposium showcases different understandings of business, academia, standards organizations and associations.

At this symposium, industry experts combed and normalized the terminology commonly used in cloud computing, which played an important role in the exchange of normative terms and clear concepts in the field of cloud computing.

The meeting discussed the basic standards for cloud computing, the PAAs platform specification, the cloud data storage and Management Series standards, and the interface standards for resilient cloud computing services. Cloud computing in the field of related enterprises, research institutions, such as dozens of units, nearly hundred people participated in this meeting, including Microsoft, EMC, China Mobile (micro-blog), Tencent and Kingdee and other industries well-known enterprises.

It is reported that Tencent company participated in the information industry, the standardization of cloud computing, led the preparation of the "cloud Computing PAAs Platform Interface Specification", and participated in a number of standard formulation. "Cloud computing PAAs Platform Interface Specification" mainly introduces the work of the PAAs platform specification, and explains the architecture system, including roles and goals, service types, components and functions.

The work of computing standardization is one of the important basic work to promote the development of cloud computing technology, industry and application and the construction of industry informatization. At present, the relevant technical specifications and standards of cloud computing have become the focus of international organizations and major enterprises, the International Organization for Standardization/the first joint Technical Committee (ISO/IEC JTC1) and International association organizations, such as Open Grid Forum (OGF), Cloud Computing Interoperability Forum (CCIF), etc. In the past two years has started the cloud computing related standardization work.
