China to deal with U.S. cotton subsidy in world trade framework

Yao pointed out that China has noticed that American cotton accounts for 30% of the Chinese imports of cotton. The United States has a large subsidy for cotton, which affects fair trade and fair competition. Statistics show that in 2002 China's cotton imports were 180,000 tonnes, and in 2008 the figure climbed to 2.11 million tonnes. In the same period, China's cotton planting area increased by 38%, cotton production increased by 52%, per ton price than the beginning of the WTO growth of about 3,000 yuan.
