2014 Domestic cloud competition is fierce

Q: The current global cloud computing market competition is fierce, including Internet enterprises, telecom operators, IT companies have to exert force. In your opinion, what stage does global cloud computing enter in 2014?

A: The industry's consensus on cloud computing as a development trend has deepened, including users ' recognition of the cloud. As you can see, the market education phase is over, and how to develop public and private clouds also has a successful model. Therefore, this year is the "cloud computing" industry action year, the key to competition in "see who action more solid."

The industrial pattern can be analyzed from two aspects of private cloud and public cloud. The virtualization capabilities of IT resources are important in the private cloud, so most of the global market is dominated by VMware, followed by Microsoft, Jie, and so on. At home, I think Huawei is most likely to be a successful challenger in the private cloud sector.

In the public cloud, the operation of the public cloud emphasizes lower cost and good delivery flexibility, so it has no private cloud requirements for single virtualization software. So at present in foreign markets, the Amazon public cloud occupies a clear advantage, followed by the two giants, Microsoft and Google, showing the "Three Kingdoms" pattern. At home, because everyone started the same time, it is difficult to have a like Amazon to occupy the main market share, can be figuratively likened to "warring" situation. To lead the future public cloud market development, the key is to see domestic enterprises themselves, the current operators, the Internet and other enterprises have different advantages, but opportunities and challenges coexist.

Telecom Cloud computing process leads the country

Q: At present, China Telecom's cloud computing development has entered a mature period, the core business has implemented a cloud strategy. Can you introduce China Telecom's application of Cloud computing program, its own business systems and external services have changed? How is the hybrid cloud progressing?

A: From the inside, after the deployment of cloud technology in the past few years, our business platform to achieve integration has brought many benefits, such as the increase in resource utilization, business delivery time accelerated, network system operation and optimization, and gradually achieve a number of module-level capacity services. In terms of external services, we build a public cloud platform, so that users are very convenient to deploy IT systems in China Telecom, while improving the user's own system in all aspects of performance, so that their business capacity is stronger.

China Telecom began building a private cloud in 2009, the largest private cloud in the country. 2011 China Telecom from the group level planning and construction of cloud data center, to achieve the unified development of national resources. In addition, China Telecom "cloud" development from the inside out, the 2012 began to enter the public cloud, the current strong momentum of development, market growth fast.

In the mixed cloud aspect, because the mixed cloud is the entire industry development direction, therefore each cloud service enterprise will consider provides the mixed cloud service, China Telecom is no exception. But the premise of providing a mixed cloud service is that the enterprise should have the corresponding operation experience to the public cloud and the private cloud, will "two cloud" get through.

The supply of hybrid cloud needs to operate the enterprise's own research and development ability is very high, want to own some core code, core software, China Telecom in vigorously strengthen the relevant ability training, with the supplier to explore, in the mixed cloud this new mode and production model to establish a benign interactive relationship.

Q: China Telecom in the construction of cloud computing platform, what is the demand for suppliers?

A: We hope that the bottom of the infrastructure to build a maximum of two or three suppliers is enough, and more will bring many problems, such as the complexity of the network architecture.

Regarding information security, we consider it from several aspects. At the user level, users want to obtain safe and reliable services, enterprises must be highly concerned about, from the level of state-owned enterprises, good information security work is our social responsibility. Cloud computing information security, including network, storage, user data and many other aspects, the overall, linkage of the program we are more concerned about.

China Telecom cloud Platform equipment procurement in the security aspects of rigorous evaluation, performance, price, it business delivery, and later services to meet our requirements of the shortlisted, and the collection process is very transparent.

It is worth mentioning that we are more concerned about the continuous investment in cloud computing and maintain an open mind of the cooperative enterprises. Since 2009 we began to enter the field of cloud computing, Huawei in the cloud computing research and development capabilities, strategic input has shown their determination and confidence, is our long-term partner. We are currently applying Huawei's cloud operating system Fusionsphere to the cloud base in Inner Mongolia.

In the future, we hope that the industry chain Enterprise virtualization software more comprehensive, cheaper, better performance. In addition, I think the future parties can jointly explore how to better build the ecosystem and build a cooperative relationship. At present, cloud computing industry chain is a "multidimensional" relationship, there is no absolute partner nor absolute opponents.
