With government departments and telecoms operators increasingly investing in cloud computing over the next few years, IDC expects the cloud services market to grow at a rapid rate of nearly 40% a year, up from $1 billion trillion by 2014.

China's cloud computing services market has reached $320 million trillion in 2010, according to a study by IDC's latest China cloud computing market. More than 60% of the market is from the application software that is the service (AaaS) market contribution, mainly including the software vendors through the cloud way to provide SMEs with online finance, enterprise management and collaboration applications.

Driven by user needs, the 2010 public cloud computing service providers have developed significantly. China's public cloud computing market presents several notable features, says 周震刚, a research manager in China responsible for cloud computing.

First, the way China's public cloud computing has become more diversified in 2010.

More companies are moving into public cloud computing operations. Among them, Internet enterprises have a broad customer base, telecom value-added service providers and Internet data centers have the advantage of infrastructure, the Government Computing Center has a strong government funding support, and telecommunications operators have full access to the level of network resources. Various types of suppliers not only carry out fierce competition, but also strengthen cooperation, through complementary advantages to improve their operational capabilities. In addition, multinational IT companies that have advanced technology and operational experience in cloud computing operations have also increased their investment in the Chinese cloud computing market and have cooperated with these types of enterprises.

Second, more government-led public cloud computing projects began to be implemented.

In these projects, the concept of urban cloud is more and more mentioned. IDC has observed that more cities are planning to build a city-wide cloud computing center that covers the city. This kind of cloud computing center will mainly provide computing resources for Government IT application systems. Therefore, the emergence of urban clouds, on the one hand, will encourage local governments to build more coverage, more performance of the cloud Computing Center, on the other hand will attract more software vendors to migrate software to the cloud platform. At the same time, the city cloud will be linked to the internet of things, creating more opportunities. The city-level cloud computing center will be the core of the Internet of things, focusing on the data obtained from each sensor terminal.

Finally, telecom operators began to enter the public cloud computing field, and will greatly affect the public cloud computing market competition pattern.

In the 2010, the three major operators of cloud computing as the focus of business development, have formulated a cloud computing implementation plan for the next few years. IDC predicts that 2011 major telecom operators will launch a number of specific cloud services applications. This type of application is the result of the cooperation of telecom operators with domestic and foreign software and service vendors, who will deploy partners ' products (such as SaaS Software) through their own IT infrastructure, and then share benefits with partners in a split way. The strong involvement of telecom operators in cloud computing will also break the original IT business model and gradually build new ecosystems.

With government departments and telecoms operators increasingly investing in cloud computing over the next few years, IDC expects the cloud services market to grow at a rapid rate of nearly 40% a year, up from $1 billion trillion by 2014. In the next few years, the infrastructure as a service (IaaS) market will become a hot spot, not only will telecom operators and business data Centers Transform data center hosting services into infrastructure, services (IaaS), but also grow rapidly in the infrastructure software markets provided by cloud mode, such as System management software, storage management software, and so on.
