As a Chinese looking for a close-up view of Silicon Valley, there are a few things that have been very good recently: one is that the recent batch of "http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/16451.html" > Of the more than 60 companies that have graduated from the Combinator Hatch, two of the company's technical partners are Home-grown Chinese engineers, your mechanic and search engine Ark for car repairs and services. The second is that some of the more mature first-generation Chinese immigrants are starting to scale, and even some investors think the next subversive idea. The third is a recent contact with some of the Chinese students at Stanford and Berkeley who are mostly born between 1986 and 1989, but I think they are well prepared for the venture at least.

I was a bit biased by a lot of Chinese engineers who worked in Silicon Valley before I was exposed to them. Many people often complain that their social circle is narrow, but you do not see them in a variety of gatherings, entrepreneurial competitions and other activities, often on the micro-blog Song pain Sue Code farmers bitterness, also do not see the real reborn the power of life again. China's small circle of party theme is Google or Microsoft's welfare good work early, the Chinese entrepreneurial environment and technology companies, they are increasingly unfamiliar to know, the domestic entrepreneurs come over to do some exchange activities, with a little curiosity to see, come back to ridicule others soil.

Of course, not excluding the Chinese-backed entrepreneurs I mentioned earlier, a lot of people have been a part of this, and after 5 to 7 years of waiting to get a green card and even become a U.S. citizen, they can finally do something about the Silicon Valley in a place called Silicon Valley.

It is the Chinese entrepreneurs who have come out of the big companies, and their starting age is almost 36, 37 or even 40 years old. The average age of entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley has fallen below 27 years old. Moreover, entrepreneurs from China's background never really solved the problem of language and communication-the lack of oral and cultural training in the early years of Chinese English education made them more disadvantaged in language than the younger generation of Chinese who were born in the late 1980 and stayed in the U.S. for further study. This leads them to play a technical role in a founding team and not be the one who walks in front of a presentable demo product, communicates with investors and the media, and is placed in the spotlight.

More importantly, networking-being an engineer in a big company doesn't create too many connections. I recently contacted a more than 40-year-old Chinese entrepreneur who talked to me about Instagram's takeover. One of his biggest regrets was, "Instagram, if only three of us were doing it, we wouldn't be 1 billion dollars." It's not because we never knew Zuckerberg in 2004, and we couldn't get to know the investors at the party. Ben Horowitz, even if he did, we wouldn't be able to talk to him as well. ”

But what about returning to the business? He smiled, left so many years, not to go back, the first to return to the venture back, did not consider the green card. Moreover, the Chinese market has been completely unfamiliar, an old, can't afford to lose.

I don't know if this is the fate of a generation of Chinese in Silicon Valley. But I believe the situation is changing: These 1985 years later, the guys who were born to watch the American drama, the Children in the subtitle group are fluent enough to cope with all kinds of situational communication. They are basically reading computer science and engineering management, and a lot of people are supplemented by design classes, which means that their knowledge structure will give a more comprehensive product feel, not just a code. You can see them in a variety of activities and occasions to talk to all kinds of people with a bottle of beer. Moreover, almost all of them do not seem to sleep, time management efficiency is extremely high.

Compared with their predecessors at nearly 40 years old to start the muddy water, these 20-year-old children have received a lot from seniors and others to invite them to a start-up company co-founder-of course this may be a little trouble on the visa. But these guys don't seem to care much about getting a green card. They don't want to be wronged for an identity for years.
