Chongqing's first cloud computing data center operation can hold 40,000 servers

March 28: The first contract to settle in Chongqing's cloud Computing Data Center project, "Pacific Telecom (Chongqing) data Center" officially opened operations. Chongqing is also the fourth city in Asia, the largest independent telecom service provider in the "cloud computing" room after Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Tianjin.

According to the introduction, the Pacific Telecom Chongqing Data Center project covers an area of 68 acres, the total investment of 150 million U.S. dollars, the annual output value of about 400 million yuan, after operation can form 40,000 server operation scale.

Chongqing's mayor, Huang, said in the ceremony that in 2010 Chongqing had established a "cloud plan" for future competitiveness. In the development of intelligent terminals, Chongqing used three years time, has now formed a world-class equipment production base, to 2015 to achieve 200 million units of cloud equipment production scale. The operation of the Pacific Telecom Data Center has also laid a solid foundation for the implementation of the "cloud" plan, which is expected to realize the scale of millions of servers by 2015.

It is reported that as the "cloud plan" important strategic, the city in 2011 invested 40 billion yuan to create the River International cloud computing Industry Park. Over the past two years the industrial park in infrastructure and ancillary construction work steadily, building area of 370,000 square meters, the total investment of about 1.5 billion yuan cloud computing service center and other functional areas are now capped, is expected to be put into use in 2013.

In addition, the Pacific Telecom Data Center opened operation at the same time, China's international E-commerce Center, Chinese Telecom, China Unicom, Chinese mobile and other enterprises have been assigned to the two Rivers International cloud computing Industry Park, the agreement to draw the amount of nearly 25 billion yuan, after the completion of the formation of about 500,000 servers operating scale.

According to industry insiders, cloud computing is seen as the fourth it Industrial Revolution following mainframe computers, PCs and the Internet. Its mode of operation is the software, hardware, platform and other IT resources as the infrastructure, in the way of service to consumers.
