Beijing time May 27 morning news, according to foreign media reports, Chrysler said in Tuesday, the company has submitted a total value of 448 million U.S. dollars to the Department of Energy plans to develop electric cars and plug-in hybrids. Chrysler said that if approved, the company's "partners" and the Department of Energy will each provide 224 million of dollars. 83 million dollars will be used to build a new automotive electrification technology and manufacturing center in Michigan.  The centre is scheduled to be opened in 2010 with an annual output of more than 20,000 vehicles. Chrysler's plan also includes more than 365 trial vehicles for selected customers and partners across the United States, costing US $365 million. (Ning String)
