June 2 21 O'Clock, Morgan Stanley announced the sale of 2.2 billion U.S. dollars of common equity, in order to complete the end of June to fully repay the U.S. "Problem asset acquisition plan," the preferred stock loan. The reporter was informed that Morgan Stanley plans to raise funds in the open market. Morgan Stanley has contacted CIC on the basis of its partnership with CIC and the CIC's preference for Morgan Stanley. CIC's stakeholders confirmed that CIC had decided to buy 1.2 billion of billions of common shares after full communication. Previously, CIC had invested in Morgan Stanley. December 19, 2007, CIC bought Morgan Stanley's $5.6 billion worth of mandatory convertible bonds, accounting for 9.86% of Morgan Stanley's current equity. CIC's stake was diluted to 7.68% last October as Japan's Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group injected money into Morgan Stanley. After completing the injection, CIC's stake in Morgan Stanley will return to 9.86%, which will significantly reduce the cost of holding Morgan Stanley shares and increase margins.
