Beijing Time September 27 News, Cisco announced today, has acquired Thinksmart Technologies, the company mainly provides Wi-Fi positioning data analysis technology. Cisco did not disclose the exact amount of the deal.

Thinksmart Technology strengthens the wireless network infrastructure and provides positioning analysis for service providers and business customers. Its location analysis is aimed at the action information of the place, including time, flow mode, residence time and so on. Cisco believes that this information allows businesses, site operators to improve the user experience by identifying the right staffing, reducing latency, optimizing business processes, and improving customer flows.

The Thinksmart team has many experts, including computers, digital, data mining technology, collection, pattern recognition, optimization, complex event processing.

The company was born at the University of Ireland.

Cisco says consumers are using mobile devices more, thinksmart networks and Wi-Fi positioning analytics can help customers improve Wi-Fi experience in public places, such as retail stores, hotels, airports.

After the acquisition, Thinksmart will join Cisco's wireless Network group to integrate into the Cisco Mobile Service engine business.
