Cisco announced plans to open its H.264 video encoder, which will be released under BSD licenses. Cisco said: We plan to open source H.264 Encoder, and provide a free download of binary modules. We will not use MPEG LA licensing costs for this module, and based on the current licensing environment, this will effectively facilitate the use of H.264 encoding in WEBRTC.
