Cisco predicts cloud computing data center traffic growth over the next 5 years

Cisco announced a new global Cloud Index on November 29, and by 2015 Global Cloud computing will grow to 12 times times the 2010 total of 130EB, 1.6 ZB annually. It is also pointed out that the vast majority of data center traffic is not from the end user, but from the enterprise, the main traffic by the end user opaque data composition.

Some of the items noted:

In the 2015 Data Center traffic, 76% is in the data Center for communication, mainly storage and virtual machines between the exchange of data and other activities.

17% is the data center that is passed from the data center to the end user.

7% is generated between data centers, such as backup and replication activities.

In 2015, the average end-user activity peaked at more than 2.5 times times today.

In 2010, 21% of workloads were processed in a cloud-based data center, and 79% in traditional data centers. In 2014, the Cloud data center workload will exceed the traditional data center, with a ratio of 51% to 49%.
