Composite's software can make data collected from multiple sources look like it's from the same place. This is to speed up and improve the decision-making process.
Composite will play a key role in Cisco's It Simplification platform program. The platform also includes Cisco's Unified Computing System (UCS) servers and associated components, as well as technology from its recently acquired Solvedirect.
"Cisco's strategy is to create a next-generation it model that delivers highly differentiated solutions that help our customers solve the most challenging business problems," said Gary Moore, Cisco's president and chief operating officer, "by combining our network technology with Cisco's unified Computing system and composite software, We will allow customers to quickly analyze data to gain greater business intelligence. ”
Cisco also says a process integration platform combined with composite and Solvedirect will provide cross-domain data and workflow consolidation for real-time business operations.
Composite will join the Cisco Services Group, led by senior vice President Mala Anand and senior executive Mike Flannagan of Cisco Services Platform Group. The acquisition is expected to be completed in the first quarter of fiscal year 2014.
