According to the Southern Metropolis Daily, Citigroup analyst Li Muzhi reported in Monday that the bank's analysis of the hotel's sales channels showed that "the outlook for online tourism agencies Ctrip" was bleak. Li Muzhi recently reiterated that Ctrip's stock rating was "sold", saying the company was under competitive pressure. He noted that while the overall tourism market was booming, online travel agencies accounted for only a small share of the market and accounted for about 10% per cent of the total number of hotel rooms. He also points out that Nasdaq:bidu, where the company owns 2/3 of ownership, appears to be shrinking its business.
