Introduction: Cloud computing provides a technical possibility for enterprise to implement flexible http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/15818.html "> Application services, but it also poses great challenges to it operational management They are no longer a single storage, network, computing and other resources, but they need to effectively integrate these resources into the dynamic services available to end users, and ensure quality of service. This change will have a very far-reaching impact on the management of IT infrastructure. How to do the application performance management in cloud computing era? What innovations should the IT department make? To this end, the net reporter interviewed the BMC company product Management director Robert Anderson, hope that his insights will help our readers.

Question 1. What is the next development trend for APM (application management)? How can BMC products adapt to this development trend? What are the challenges that APM faces in the cloud computing environment?

APM will focus more on end-user management and how to leverage analytics capabilities. This analysis enables the analysis of a large number of unstructured APM data obtained from the entire application delivery stack resource. The BMC has a powerful end-user management platform that combines a large amount of technical data into a complete end-user session. In this way, whether the application is virtualized, cloud-based, or using the delivery architecture of Third-party/saas/paas Services, we can manage it. We also have a technology-leading analytics platform that provides behavioral learning and integrated event-handling capabilities that enable customers to manage a wide range of applications.

Question 2. What are the important features that APM includes? How do these functions work?

End-User management functions are important, and these user transactions must be tracked at the application, middleware, database, and host tiers. In an end-user context (also known as a traffic explorer), the analysis engine is required to analyze a large number of possible related data. Discovery engines play an important role in associating applications and supporting infrastructure, enabling companies to improve processes such as root cause analysis, impact management, and ITIL.

Question 3. The migration of infrastructure, platforms, and applications to cloud computing environments typically affects APM associations. How do BMC products ensure applicability?

Our focus is on managing the detailed conversations of end users, and we combine the passive acquisition and support of cloud technology and SaaS agents/Plug-ins to bring value to the industry with the fastest and deepest understanding of end user sessions. When used with discovery engines, applications, databases, middleware, host visibility, and analytics, we bring the most flexible cloud environment management to the industry.

Question 4. In theory, traditional application management tools ensure that each application can use policies to obtain sufficient resources to ensure application performance. Why are customers still using products such as euem? Or what are the advantages of euem compared to traditional tools? What tangible benefits can be brought to customers (such as TCO)?

The BMC End-User Experience Management (EUEM) provides real-time user data, which is accurate and can be manipulated. When it is used in conjunction with BMC capacity optimization, bladelogic servers, databases, applications, and network automation solutions, customers can detect end-user performance problems and adjust infrastructure to maintain or even exceed specified service levels. The TCO of the BMC APM solution has increased significantly due to automatic alignment performance levels and leveraging infrastructure placement policies.

Question 5. Does APM support all existing applications in cloud technology? If the BMC's Euem product is fully reflected in the performance of the cloud environment, is it necessary to change the original application?

The BMC's APM solution covers all web-based applications in the cloud technology, which does not require changing applications or implanting any code into the application.

Question 6. Does the BMC Application management tool support a mixed cloud? If supported, how will it be supported? What are the challenges?

Support。 It supports hybrid clouds through intelligent placement of network acquisition devices or lightweight proxies/plug-ins that are automatically deployed by cloud automation solutions, such as the BMC Cloud Lifecycle management scheme.

Question 7. Is the BMC euem product deployment Complex? Is there a need for expert advisor support before deployment? What is the overall cost of deployment?

The finished product can be delivered in the form of a virtual device or a hardware device, thus generating value in a very short time. These devices are configured when delivered, without the need for additional configuration of application services and database services. Once you have a need to use, install the lightweight agent on the application tier. They are all standard mechanisms, such as Java application Archive loading. Most customers are able to complete the installation of the entire solution themselves.

Question 8. Since it is a user experience based tool, does the BMC provide a way to access, monitor, and manage from the client (user authentication)?

to provide. This is accomplished by collecting and SSL-encrypt the entire communication originating from the login and using JavaScript implants if requested by the customer. But most customers do not require JavaScript implants to be provided in our solution.

Question 9. With proprietary cloud, multiple sets of virtual devices become a performance and capacity management problem, and many traditional management solutions are helpless. What are the BMC's good ideas for this?

When we deliver APM, the primary focus is on end user sessions. This allows our solutions to circumvent the many complex challenges of this proprietary cloud technology. If necessary, we can deploy some lightweight proxies at the software layer and put them into the application, database, and middleware layers as part of a dedicated cloud deployment for virtualization.

Question 10. End-to-end State Monitoring is one of the most important elements in enterprise cloud environment management. But implementing End-to-end State monitoring is a complex task that will have an impact on many it processes. What do you recommend for this BMC?

We will use passive network data acquisition methods, while focusing on end user sessions. This way, no matter how complex these cloud technologies are, customers can detect the service levels delivered throughout the cloud computing environment. You can also use cloud automation tools such as BMC Cloud Lifecycle management to add lightweight proxies when needed.
