Absrtact: With the increasing popularity of cloud computing concept, more and more terminals are introduced into cloud computing services. With cloud computing coming, no one can sniff out more than telecoms operators, and no one is more entangled than telecoms operators.

In the face of cloud computing, telecom operators are not indifferent, since 2007, the three major operators from different perspectives to plan their own "cloud computing" architecture, and achieved some results.

But cloud computing also requires telecoms operators to invest heavily in boosting broadband capabilities, reforming the architecture of the entire data center, and adapting its own business system. Most importantly, telecom operators need a strong sense of mission from the pioneer of cloud computing to drive the entire industry chain resources and cooperate with each other.

Obviously, opportunities and risks coexist. And from the current telecom operator's move, cloud computing has not been greatly advanced. Telecom operators are wool in cloud computing strategy.

China Mobile research and development of cloud computing began in 2007, in 2009, China Mobile officially announced its development and testing platform "bigcloud--big Cloud", and on September 1 officially released the "Big Cloud 0.5" version. May 2010, China Mobile officially released the Big Cloud 1.0 system, and at the same time released a large cloud 1.0 of five products, are parallel data mining tools, distributed mass Data Warehouse, flexible computing system, cloud storage systems, parallel computing execution environment.

But China Mobile's performance cannot hide its conservatism. Shaho, vice president of China Mobile, told the media in May 2010 that the development of cloud computing is still in its infancy and that there are still large gaps in the application of large-scale industrial applications. "Calm" behind the attitude, in fact, China Mobile is not optimistic about the development of cloud computing and not confident.

The focus of China Mobile's "Big Cloud" 1.0 and 2.0 program is massive data management and sharing, with the focus on computing storage resource pools, and the next 2.0, 3.0 will be implemented in real time through the cloud computing platform. So far, there have not been 2.0 releases, and China Mobile's "Big Cloud" program is basically still in the experimental level, up to a limited range of trial, from large-scale business is far from the difference.

2010, China Telecom launched the "Nebula Project", currently has four cloud computing pilot cities, respectively, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Chengdu and Nanchang, China Telecom in the four cities in the cloud computing field test, involving IDC upgrade, business platform, capacity open platform, internal IT applications and other fields. China Telecom Research explores several cloud computing applications, including: IDC Evolution and business pilot, business pilot SaaS application, mobile Internet application research based on cloud computing, Number hundred optimization and promotion based on cloud computing. In addition, China Telecom also launched two brands of "E-Cloud mobile phone" terminal, the use of "e-Cloud mobile phone", users do not need to upgrade the client can be remote real-time update applications and services.

Similar to China Mobile, China Telecom's cloud computing practices are also superficial. Its real commendable is in the field of broadband and data center in the field of input, but these two major investments can not directly translate into the specific cloud computing business, China Telecom also needs to have more perfect planning.

China Unicom launched the "Interconnected Cloud" project in 2009, with little coverage of the project, or whether China Unicom is a less-than-low-key or simply inactive in cloud computing, and China Unicom is more likely to act symbolically in response to social accusations. Telecom operators in the development of cloud computing industry bear the unshirkable responsibility, and China Unicom does not seem to assume that the responsibility.

In stark contrast to the conservative attitude of China Telecom operators, foreign telecom operators are actively involved in cloud computing business. Telecoms operators such as At&t, BT, Orange and Verizon have made significant progress in cloud computing operations in 2010, a report titled The Global Telecoms Company's cloud computing strategy revealed. Ovum, a market research firm, predicts that the world's leading telecoms companies will become strong players in the cloud market in the next year or two.

Foreign telecom operators have launched cloud computing related businesses, forming a certain market influence. In August 2008, for example, T released a network-hosted "synaptichosting" service that addresses the customer's operational needs through at&t deployed networks, computing resources, and data storage centers. In May 2009, At&t launched a Emcatmos based data storage infrastructure that allows users to access from any location at any time, using At&t's network cloud to save, distribute, and retrieve data. Users develop detailed rules through a web-based user interface that automatically expands storage capacity according to the user's needs, and the user simply pays for the amount they use. NTT has launched a web-based desktop computing cloud computing platform "Setten". The platform provides operational systems, storage, and a range of application hosting solutions that connect corporate networks, e-mails, files, and servers via the Internet, simulating a desktop environment that is no different from a real desktop computer platform.

With its advantages in Internet access and data center, telecom operators can combine the cloud computing service to make it complete the transformation from traditional pipeline mode to end-to-end application mode. And cloud computing can help telecom operators to reduce IT costs, accelerate the platform of telecommunications industry and the integration process of industrial chain, so that the telecommunications operator in the entire industry chain to play a more important role.
